you'd want the 2.0L version at least, I think they are rated for towing around 1000kg's. Squareback + trailer might just come in under that.
Ideally you'd want an EG33 swap and bigger brakes.
I've often looked at them but they're popular for resto-mods so they're priced way outside of my budget
